PROP 65 WARNING

Lead is on the Proposition 65 list because it can cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. Exposure to lead during pregnancy can affect brain development and cause learning and behavior problems for the child. Exposure to lead can harm the reproductive systems of men and women.

Traditional leaded panes or Tiffany copper foil— lead is a key component is stained glass. No matter the technique, we use lead to solder the seams and hold our glass together. While there are lead-free solder alternatives, we will use leaded solder in class. Why lead?

PPE: We will Provide gloves, disposable face masks, and proper ventilation. If you’d like to bring in a respirator for flux fumes, make sure it is rated for VAPOR. With Proper PPE the risks for lead poisoning are small. If you have any health concerns please reach out to your health provider or us.
